This year marks the 75th anniversary of the original raid, and as such there will be a principal commemorative event at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 17th May.
Hosted by Dan Snow, and featuring the Glenn Miller Orchestra plus special guests including family members of both Dam Busters crew, and the film’s director Michael Anderson, historian Paul Beaver and Professor Hugh Hunt as they explore the history of the iconic raid and how it led to the making of this British classic. The evening will pay tribute to Wing Commander Guy Gibson and his comrades of the legendary 617 Squadron with the audience including former members of the 617 Squadron and current members of the Royal Air Force, so it’ll be a very special and momentous evening in an equally iconic venue.
