Restoration Update – 18.08.23

“All the world’s a stage” and that has certainly been the case for the last couple of weeks for our amazing ‘Rosie’s Angels’ who are the team that our magnificent Technical Manager Rosie has brought in to rebuild and restore The Plaza stage for the 5th time in the venue’s history.

There are still sections at the front of the stage that our from our 4th stage build which consisted of a recycled basketball court that had allegedly been a sports court used by the world famous Harlem Globe Trotters so that fascinating part of our venue history has been preserved whilst the new stage will offer a more robust stage surface that can now serve The Plaza for many decades to come.

Once the stage boards had been expertly fitted on the raked stage by Rosie’s Angels the task began of painting the surface with coats of paint suitable for a theatre stage and once done the drying process started to ensure that the stage would be ready for our first performance which would be ‘Ireland The Show’ on Saturday 19th August 2023.

An enormous theatrical Huzzah and Well Done to Rosie and all of the amazing team who have done such a sensational job and it is wonderful to know that all of your hard work and dedication will assist in bringing the productions, cinema screenings and events to us all and creating such joy for so many more years to come!…
