All Friends Together as The Plaza ‘Friends’ handover takes place

In 2000 The Stockport Plaza Trust succesfully re-opened the magnificent Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre and have since this date with your support seen her grow into the jewel of the artistic crown of the North West.

Alongside the Trust a dedicated seperate organisation of supporters called ‘The Friends of The Plaza’ was created who have certainly supported the hardwork and dedication shown by the Trust in restoring and maintaining our wonderful venue with fundraising and donations to so many amazing projects and after 24 glorious years the Members voted to dissolve the existing organisation and hand over the mantle to The Plaza to re-launch this much valued members scheme in 2024.

A historic moment took place on the evening of Monday 5th February 2024 as the existing ‘Friends’ committee lead by their Chairperson Eve Moss officially brought to an end one era and welcomed the beginning of the new ‘Friends Of The Plaza’ operated by The Stockport Plaza Trust which commenced on the 1st January 2024 with a handshake with our Chairman Nigel Anderton.

We would like to send a heartfelt thankyou to Eve and the amazing committee past and present for all of their support of The Plaza and also a thank you to every supporter of the original friends and all of you who have transferred to our new ‘Friends Of The Plaza’ scheme which can be joined by visiting the ‘Friends’ link on our website, by completing a form which can be collected or received from The Plaza or by simply calling our Admin Team on 0161 480 3818.
