On the weekend of October 7th & 8th 1932 a vision was born in Stockport as the doors opened on a sumptuous Art Deco Super Cinema and Variety Theatre that would shine as the regional home for the very best in Big Screen and Live Stage Entertainment, Events and Fine Dining here in the very heart of Stockport and as we celebrate our 85th year of serving you and our community we raise the curtain on yet another season featuring the very best in every style of event for you, your family and friends to enjoy.
From cinematic presentations including the undisputed Kings of Big Screen Comedy Laurel & Hardy, the first stars to appear on our cinema screen in 1932 who will take pride of place in our birthday weekend film events, through to a sensational mix of the very best in live stage entertainment in our main auditorium and the intimate Green Room performance spaces, we believe we definitely have something for everybody in our latest Season Brochure!
As well as being the perfect venue for your entertainment our beautiful Café retains its title as ‘The Talk of The North’ with a wonderful menu prepared for you from 10am until 4pm on Mondays to Saturdays offering you the chance to enjoy a delightful indulgence in the very best of art deco surroundings whilst if you are looking to celebrate a special event, a wedding or feel The Plaza could enhance your occasion please do not hesitate to get in touch and we can make your special event even more special!
Finally, we are delighted…oh yes we are!…that we shall be welcoming TED ROBBINS back to The Plaza as the hilarious Widow Twanky in this years sensational family pantomime ALADDIN alongside BRIAN CAPRON who will be joining us as the ‘oh so evil’ Abanazar …Tickets are on sale now for this affordable festive family treat which runs from 1st December 2017…
