The Plaza reopens in an alluring blaze of glory

With a snip of the ribbon, Deputy Mayor and Board Member of The Stockport Plaza Trust, Cllr Linda Weeks-Holt declared our auditorium seating officially in situ in advance of a Gala Screening of ‘The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert’.

Alongside Gary Trinder our Vice Chairman and Technical Director, Cllr Weeks-Holt declared the auditorium and the seating that was originally advertised in our opening brochure as creating a ‘blue allure’ within our auditorium as ‘open’.

The seating which is an exact replica of those in situe on our opening day of October 7th 1932 is the very latest part of our successful restoration of Stockports 1932 Art Deco  Super Cinema and Variety Theatre and full details of our seating restoration can be found on the ‘Restoration Update’ section of this web site.
