Restoration Update – 28.05.19

As the famous Blue Peter saying goes ‘ Here is one we made earlier’ as the beautifully molded ornamental Heads above the false windows within the auditorium are restored to their position after their removal in advance of the restoration and refurbishment works commenced to ‘tank’ the internal walls to cesate the increasing water damage being caused on the right hand side of our Stalls seating area.

The Heads had previously been created as part of our 2009 restoration and instead of starting from scratch to replace these works of art they were carefully removed, expertly restored by our local specialists Ornate Interiors and have now been reinstated awaiting the final stage of these restoration works when they are repainted in the beautiful rich antique Gold and gleaming Silver paintwork that make our Art Deco auditorium glisten.
